Description
In lift access control, the control is performed upstream, unlike an ordinary lift where the reader is located inside the cabin.
A group of lifts serves several floors. Each floor has at least one terminal, on which the user tags and enters the floor of destination. The console then tells the user which lift to take.
Thanks to this system, people leaving from the same floor, in the same direction and at the same time, are directed to the same lift. The lift therefore uses less energy and gains in efficiency by transferring more people per hour.
The lift access control integration is of the hardware-to-hardware type: iPassan – Otis terminals. The iPassan central unit is able to manage up to 6 Otis terminals thanks to the reference FD-050-104.
