Description
Unlike a conventional lift where the access control reader is placed inside the car, access control process takes place further upstream by using the KONE DOP (Destination Operating Panel) activation card.
When multiple elevators serve various floors, each floor is equipped with a terminal that allows residents to badge and select their destination floor. The display in the elevator car guides them to the appropriate elevator for their destination.
This innovative system enhances elevator efficiency. It groups several individuals departing from the same floor, traveling in the same direction, and at the same time into the same cabin.
This approach minimizes and streamlines trips: each cabin accommodates more passengers and makes fewer journeys, resulting in reduced energy consumption.
Integration requires a software licence as lift access control is software to software. The lift settings are made in Kone Access. The iPassan Manager operator then connects their database to the Kone Access one and uses existing Kone Access profiles.
